Core Values Ritual
A Good Daily Life Recipe for clarity, alignment, and deeper self-connection
Intention:
Your core values are the compass for how you live, love, and lead. By uncovering what truly matters to you, this ritual helps you make aligned decisions, set meaningful goals, and stay grounded in who you are — even when life gets noisy.
You’ll Need:
A quiet, comfortable space
A journal or notebook
15–30 minutes of uninterrupted time
A list of reflection prompts (below)
An open mind and a willingness to go inward
Steps:
Set the Scene
Find a quiet spot and settle in with your journal and a pen.
Take a few breaths to clear your mind.Reflect on Key Moments
Think of 2–3 times in your life when you felt deeply proud, joyful, or fulfilled.
Jot down what was happening and why it felt so meaningful.Identify the Themes
For each moment, ask:What made this moment so powerful?
What values were present? (e.g., creativity, freedom, connection, growth)
Highlight the words or patterns that come up.
Narrow It Down
Review your list and circle 5–7 words that resonate most.
These are your core values — the principles that guide your best self.Define Your Values
For each one, write a sentence or two about what it means to you and how it shows up in your life.Create a Core Values Statement (Optional)
Combine your values into a sentence or short mantra that reflects your personal compass.
Example: “I strive to live with creativity, honesty, and compassion in all I do.”
Optional Add-Ons:
Spread the reflection over a few days if needed — deep clarity takes time
Share your values with someone you trust for fresh perspective
Write your values in your journal or pin them where you’ll see them often
Ripple Reflection:
When you know what matters most, how does it change the way you show up?
